Altilly – Exchange Review

Altilly appeared in 2018, positioning itself as a full-service exchange with fiat on-ramps, card purchases, margin trading, trading bots, and an API for developers. It marketed low fees, a clean interface, and multilingual support, targeting both beginners and experienced traders.

Ambition and early offerings

At its peak, Altilly presented itself as a versatile platform with:

  • Over 200 tokens and trading pairs
  • Crypto-fiat access via bank transfers and cards
  • Margin and leveraged trading
  • Trading bots and API support
  • Maker rebates, including negative fees to reward active traders

This mix of features aimed to combine beginner accessibility with advanced trader tools.

The breach that ended operations

In December 2020, Altilly suffered a major security breach:

  • Hackers stole over $750,000 in crypto
  • Backups were wiped and core services disrupted
  • Users lost access to balances, and withdrawals froze

The exchange never recovered. By early 2021 it was already flagged as defunct, with no path to relaunch.

Inactive and untracked

As of 2025, Altilly is effectively dead:

  • No trading volume, pairs, or reserves listed
  • Official domains are offline
  • Any site appearing under the brand is treated as a cloned scam

The exchange no longer exists as a functioning service.

Reputation and user trust

User sentiment surrounding Altilly collapsed after the hack. Common issues included:

  • Lost funds with no compensation
  • No support or communication from the team
  • Accusations of fraud in crypto forums

By its final months, Altilly was widely seen as untrustworthy.

User experience today

There is no working front-end, login, or application. Altilly provides no tools, no updates, and no community presence. The project is an abandoned shell.

Who it matters to now

The only relevance of Altilly today is academic or investigative:

  • Researchers studying exchange collapses
  • Victims still tracing stolen funds

For traders or investors, there is nothing to recover or use.

Pros and cons (historical)

Pros

  • Broad token selection
  • Fiat access with card and bank options
  • Negative maker fees encouraged active trading
  • API and trading bot support

Cons

  • Major hack in 2020 destroyed operations
  • Lost user funds with no compensation
  • Communication and support vanished
  • Fully inactive by 2021

Final verdict

Altilly launched with ambition: fiat access, advanced trading tools, and a wide token selection. But the 2020 hack proved fatal. Operations stopped, users lost funds, and trust collapsed.

By 2025, Altilly is little more than a ghost exchange — no markets, no liquidity, and no support. It stands as another cautionary tale of how quickly platforms disappear when security fails.
